It was inevitable - I am hosting my first challenge!!!
*cue fanfare*
Now, I haven't talked about this on Twitter, or Ning, or any of the other places bloggers gather, so it's quite possible I might be the ONLY participant, but that's okay with me. I really want to read some of the fabulous books on our 451 Fridays list, so I decided to go ahead and create a challenge for it! Here are the details:
Between January 1, 2010 and November 30, 2010, participants are challenged to read books on the 451 master list. There will be several levels of participation:
Spark - read 1-2 books from the master list
Ember - read 3-4 books from the master list
Flame - read 5-6 books from the master list
Blaze - read 7 or more books from the master list
Re-reading is acceptable, as are crossovers with other challenges. Audio, print, and e-books are all acceptable. Each month, participants will be encouraged to post their reviews on the challenge blog, and each review posted will be an entry into a grand prize drawing for a $25 gift card to the online bookseller of the winner's choice.
If you are interested, you can sign up on the dedicated blog for the challenge. I'm still working on compiling the master list, but there is a pretty good selection of books already there, and of course each week that we have 451 Fridays, there will be more goodies to add

A start...
So, I was fired from my job about a month ago. I have been at home trying to get used to this. It has been a rough, anxiety ridden time, but I am trying to build up the courage to make things right and fight for myself in it. I don't want to get into it now, but I am thinking that returning to my blog and writing about the stuff going on will help me. So, I guess this little post is a start.

Roast Beef
So, Roberto and I are doing the Atkin's diet. Lost 10 pounds already! YAY! But, that is not what this webpost is about.
The following is a conversation that took place at our home a couple days ago.
Gracie: Mommy, that roast beef smells could, can I try some of it?
Rob: I don't know if she should have that Sarah, it is kind of tough.
Me: I will give her a piece so she can try it.
(Rob goes back to working on music and now Gracie and I are hanging out in the kitchen.)
Gracie: Mommy, this meat is really good! I don't think it is tough at all, it hasn't even tried to fight me.
I crack up every time I tell that story or think about it. It took me a second to realize what she was meaning. In my head I envision what she was thinking and I see my four year old sweetheart bitchslapping that roast beef as it tries to hit her. The thing I find awesome about it is this: She thought that roast beef was tough and was going to fight her, but she wanted to eat it anyway. What a little trooper!

Speaking of roast beef...I am loving British television. What does that have to do with roast beef? Well, the fact that they have no fear when it comes to showing nudity and male genitalia. HA!
Some of my favorite British shows that EVERYONE should watch:
Being Human
Doctor Who
Torchwood
The IT Crowd
Skins
Desperate RomanticsBritish humor is awesome...and their television is giving me a plethora of new slang terms and foul words to refer to people as. For instance, my new favorite word is bell-end. :)

Too many social networks...too little time...
So, this has been neglected. Mainly because of functionality for me. If you would like to visit me on myspace, please do. I hang there more often now.
